How can I lose weight fast, healthy?

I need to lose at least 50 pounds fairly quickly. I do some strength training with free weights already, and I did not eat much food. I do not want to kill myself, but I need to lose weight fast. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

How long does it take to lose weight in a single workout?

My question is about a couple of different levels. Please feel free to be endless because I really want to learn about this. I've been losing weight over the past 2 months on the diet. I lost about 12 pounds this way. I understand how this works – you can lose weight by reducing caloric intake and changing the types of foods you eat. What I understand is how the exercise makes you lose weight. I have the beginnnings of understanding about this – you're burning calories with exercise … as if you eat 1,400 calories a day and 300 after recording your body thinks you have eaten only 1100, right? But how do all those calories come of age? The past three months that made me gain weight?
